inferior to sub-zero filter
I tried to save more than a few bucks by purchasing this off-brand. I can't speak for removing contaminants, but the water flavor is unchanged from the tap. There's a also a platic-y flavor too. I got the Sub-Zero filter and noticed an immediate change in taste quality. I recommend spending the money on the Sub Zero filter.
Awesome replacement
I recently replaced my sub zero filter that came with the fridge and now the water comes out of the dispenser at least twice as fast as the sub zero filter. I actually ordered a three pack after trying it out.
