May be worth the extra money
I bought the Makita compressor, so the matching color is a nice touch. I like the covering and the apparent quality. I'm a low-use home user so couldn't comment on ability to handle abuse, but this hose works great for me.

I like this hose. It is flexible, hard to tangle and the blue color looks good with the blue compressor I bought with it.
