Cuckoo Rice Cooker l CR-0351F (Green)

great little cooker
This is a perfect cooker for one-person rice dishes. It can cook as little as a 1/2 rice-cooker cup of rice which is basically a serving. It does very well at both white and brown rice, both of which I make often, although I've found with the brown rice that I need to add a little more water than the marking in the bowl indicates.

It does very well at meal-in-a-pot dishes where I throw a bunch of other food in with the rice. You can set the timer down to the minute when you want to have the dish ready, and it's generally been very good at getting the timing right. The bowl is good sturdy thick one, although it is a teflon-type coating and the measurement lines are so deep that it takes more effort to get the grooves clean than the rest of the bowl. It has a drip tray but it doesn't drip much when I open it anyway.

There is a steam option but no included steamer basket so I haven't tried steaming with it yet.

Note that this cooker is made in Korea...

Grain + bean at the same time
This rice cooker is the perfect size to make a supply of grain and beans for two people (two people with very limited counter space) for a week. I make a big batch Sunday nights, and then my husband and I eat portions all week long.

The best part about it is that it'll cook the beans along with the grains - I throw in barley and dry mung beans, or rice and dry lentils, or quinoa and dry little red lentils, and some spices, and it cooks everything together perfectly. No pre-soaking of the beans or anything. A true "set it and forget it."

We've used it regularly for a year with no problems at all.

Best rice cooker ever
I love using Cuckoo rice cooker-- it's really cute, so it's a good addition to my kitchen. It also cooks the rice perfectly.
