Takes a little while to heat up but planning a little in advance and its great for the reason I made the purchase.
A good thing
Not something one uses daily, but for entertaining and for holiday cooking and/or keeping things hot, it works. It cooks and keeps food hot if you're just reheating. I like that the lid is glass and see through and it has a 'kickstand' in back of each crockpot to hold the lid up and out of the way. Each crockpot has a groove so that the serving spoon fits into the pot while the lid is still on. Each crockpot works independently of the other. That's smart design.
I found mine at Sam's club on sale for $29.99 last month and bought two, one for a gift. Just this week it was selling for $24.99! If you can get there, buy yours there while they last. What can you buy for $25 these days? Makes a good wedding shower gift and looks like you spent much more, because it DOES cost more! I plan to use mine for Easter dinner; I cook Italian so I put tomato sauce in one, meatballs & sausages in the other, and I put a soup or a dessert in the third. I can see this as the perfect item...
Great for parties
For the last two years I have borrowed a friend's Bella slow cooker-buffet server for a New Year's Day open house. It's been great for those parties--I can cook ahead and transfer different foods to the crock pots to keep warm; it's convenient for my guests; and I don't have to be tending food on the stove, so I can be out of the kitchen. I am planning to buy one of these appliances for myself. And may buy a smaller version for my mother who lives alone. She doesn't use her huge crock pot very often because it makes such big portions.
